3 Weeks in Yerevan (2016)
In this heartwarming comedy, Armen and Raffi, two filmmakers from Los Angeles, go to Armenia to shoot a feature-length movie about a third-generation Armenian-American who goes to Yerevan to adopt a 12-year-old. They team up with local impresario Rubo and begin the arduous task of casting parts, scouting locations, and securing the last leg of the funding. What seems to be a perfect plan becomes a perfect storm of absurd meetings, unexpected discoveries, and hilarious events, which comes together to sabotage the project. The Minister of Culture, the Chief of Police, the director of Hyefilm Studios, and the oligarch all offer to help, but they all have their conditions: changing the plot of the script, adapting it to another period, casting a relative for a part, and ultimately a proposal to turn the simple, touching story into a biopic of an oligarch. The chemistry among Rubo, Armen, and Raffi creates an amazing hilarity, and their journey to realize their dream brings them face-to-face with some colorful characters, fantastic situations, and beautiful backdrops. All Releases
