Directed by Yimou Zhang (Raise The Red Lantern) Hero debuted and reigned for two weeks in the U.S. as the #1 Theatrical box-office champion. Go behind the scenes and discover the making of Hero. Divided into sections entitled 'Backstory,' 'The Action,' 'The Challenges' and 'The Magic,' this fascinating featurette explores how the filmmakers overcame enormous challenges to blend epic action, visual poetry and personal drama together to create the unique spirit of Hero.

Through interviews and on-set footage, the filmmakers tell in their own words how the script was developed and talent assembled. Discover how the film's amazing locations were decided upon, and how huge logistical challenges, such as the king's palace (the largest movie set in China), were met. Learn how the filmmakers approached the remarkable action sequences, and how the actors, some schooled in martial arts and some not, made their scenes come to life.
