FAHRENHEIT 9/11 SHATTERS HOME VIDEO RECORD

- Moore's Film Bows as #1 Documentary Debut of All-Time-

PORTLAND, Ore. - October 13, 2004 - Michael Moore's politically-charged documentary of the Bush administration, Fahrenheit 9/11, debuted last week on home video breaking his own record as the #1 documentary video rental debut of all-time, according to Rentrak's Home Video Essentials(tm).

Held previously by Moore's Bowling for Columbine, Fahrenheit 9/11 grabbed the top spot in the U.S. home video rental market as the most watched documentary debut of all-time with more than 2.6 million DVD and VHS viewers.

With a gross box office revenue of $115 million*, Moore's eagerly anticipated video of Fahrenheit 9/11 turned 1.36 million copies and earned more than $4.7 million on DVD alone in its first week.

"The fact that Fahrenheit 9/11 ranked #3 overall on the DVD rental charts last week shows that the American public is doing their research and seeking information in this election year," said Brad Hackley, vice president of business development for Home Video Essentials at Rentrak.

Michael Moore now occupies the top two coveted spots in the first week top-earning video documentary category.
