Denzel Does It Again - 'Man on Fire' Sets Ablaze the U.S. Home Video Market, Debuting as the #1 Video of The Year in Revenue

Fox's Man On Fire, starring Denzel Washington, scorched the home video market streeting as the #1 title of the year based on first week rental revenue performance, according to Rentrak's Home Video Essentials.
The film, which also features the ensemble cast Christopher Walken, Dakota Fanning, Radha Mitchell, and singer Marc Anthony, debuted last Tuesday on home video earning $11.8 million on volume of 3.5 million combined DVD/VHS units turned.
"The earning power of Denzel Washington in the entertainment industry is massive. Absent Man On Fire -- Denzels' talent equity on Training Day, John Q., Out Of Time, and Remember The Titans alone is worth more than a quarter-billion dollars," said Brad Hackley VP of Business Development for Rentrak's Home Video Essentials.
Man On Fire takes down Starsky & Hutch's previous 9-week reign as the leader in the first-week performer's category.
